Your company offers benefits to your employees? Great! Now let’s look at some compliance requirements we can help with.*
COBRA Administration
The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) is a federal law that allows eligible individuals and their families to continue their employer-sponsored health insurance coverage for a limited period after a qualifying life event. If your company employs 20 or more employees, allow us to offer such a solution for your business through a partnered Third-Party Administrator.
Wrap Document
A “wrap document” is a written document that essentially “wraps around” an existing insurance policy or benefit booklet, providing additional information necessary to comply with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) requirements for employee welfare benefit plans, essentially filling in any gaps left by the original insurance documents.
Section 125 Premium Only Plan (POP)
A “premium only plan” (POP) is a type of cafeteria employee benefit plan that allows employees to pay their share of employer-sponsored health insurance premiums using pre-tax dollars, meaning the money is deducted from their paycheck before taxes are calculated, resulting in higher take-home pay for the employee.
5500 Form Filing
Form 5500 is an annual report that provides information about a company’s benefits, which includes health, life, dental, and disability benefits. Employers are required to file Form 5500 with the Department of Labor (DOL) when their plan has 100 or more employee participants at the beginning of a plan year and when their plan is funded through a trust, regardless of the number of participants.
General Notices
Depending on group size, there are several other general notices that must be distributed to employees within certain timeframes. It is our pleasure to assist with many of these.
